In the event of an emergency at any soccer field where an SUSA Academy training session or game is being conducted, the EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN must be implemented immediately.
- CALL 911
If any person collapses on the field, assume it is a Cardiac Arrest Emergency
call to 911 immediately.
- TELL 911 YOUR SPECIFIC LOCATION
Tell the 911 telephone responder your EXACT location. Give the street address and what field you are on at that address. If you are at the lighted deer park training field, the address is 759 Long Island Avenue, Deer Park, New York and the nearest cross street is Deer Park Avenue. If you are at the game field at Baymen, the address is 353 Cherry Avenue, West Sayville, New York and the nearest cross street is Tariff.
- SEND AN ADULT TO THE ENTRANCE TO FLAG RESCUE HELP TO THE CORRECT LOCATION
Immediately send a non-rescue trained adult to the entrance of the field to FLAG THE RESCUE HELP. Direct the first responders to the patient but remain at the gate for further responders.
- SEARCH FOR A QUALIFIED MEDICAL PERSON ON SITE WHILE RESCUE HELP IS ON WAY
Immediately search the field for a medical professional (Doctor, nurse, emt, firefighter, police officer, or a person trained in CPR.
- ALL ACTIVITY ON THE FIELD IS STOPPED UNTIL PERSON REMOVED
Only after the person has been removed from the field of play may the game be allowed to resume.
- REPORT THE INCIDENT TO KATHIE FLEISCHER AT email@example.com.
A report must be submitted to the Club immediately by phone and in writing as soon as possible.
Do not attempt to move the person unless a qualified rescue or health professional can determine that this can be done without causing further injury.
During inclement weather the patient must be protected from the elements and kept warm by using blankets.
Do not attempt to cover someone who appears to have collapse due to hot weather and may be suffering from heat emergency.
