SUSA Junior Academy Teams (u6-u8)

2019/2020 SEASON

What is the SUSA Junior Academy?

A program for U6-U8 players of all abilities that offers two training sessions per week and games on the weekends run by SUSA Professional Coaches. All players are placed on training pools based on age and ability and divided by teams to play on the JSS League on Saturdays/Sundays. SUSA Junior Academy Players follow a 8 weeks training curriculum designed by the SUSA Technical Director and participate in the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.

Where are practices?

SUSA offers Junior Academy Training in the following areas:

  • East: Baymen Soccer Complex- 500 Cherry Ave Sayville

  • West: Suffolk Y JCC- 74 Hauppauge Rd, Commack

  • COMING SOON: Future Home of SUSA Sports Complex Dpw Dr, Central Islip, NY 11722

Where are the games?

Because SUSA is apart of the NYCSL League our home games will be at Baymen Soccer complex and there will be some travel to other campus locations for away games.

SUSA has created the Junior Academy Development Model to give young soccer players a chance to enjoy and succeed in today’s youth soccer environment. This program will guide the youth soccer player to develop all the skills required to make their path to success fun and enjoyable.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

SUSA Trainers will model skill training as fun, valuable, and important. Trainers will incorporate positive attitude, confidence, curiosity, exploration, and collaboration into their training programs. SUSA will also introduce skills and concepts without hindering a player’s creativity or spirit of exploration. They will set expectations and encourage players to challenge themselves. This will allow each child the freedom to explore and discover how to achieve both individual and team goals. Players will be guided through the modeling and questioning of game scenarios which will prompt them to find solutions through experimentation. Mistakes will be treated as learning opportunities that will provide each player the confidence to try without the fear of failure.

  • 4 v 4 Games Based on Ability
  • Intrasquad Scrimmages

WHO CAN JOIN?

We welcome young stars through beginners that would like to grow in soccer with us. The program is available to BOYS & GIRLS born in 2012 2013 & 2014.

WHY CHOOSE SUSA JUNIOR ACADEMY?

The SUSA Junior Academy Development Model was created by a group of soccer and educational professionals keeping the “young player” as its priority. This program utilizes the SUSA “Club Culture” which values teamwork, respect, commitment, creativity, and fun. The pursuit of player success and happiness guides our development process. This training philosophy proves that quality skill development, child education, and fun don’t have to be separate endeavors.
