Jennifer Bonifazio of our G99/00 NPL commits to play at Fairfield University this Fall!!! #susalife
The advice I would give to young players in SUSA that I have learned through my experiences is to never give up on yourself and the sport you love no matter how challenging I️t might get. Of course there are going to be times when you have so much homework and going to soccer practice seems like a drag, or early morning 7 AM games that seem impossible to get up and get your shin guards on. All this however is just a small obstacle in the big picture of something you are passionate and driven about. Playing soccer should be a way to escape anything that is challenging in life and a time where you can focus on bettering yourself and your skills. I could not picture myself not playing soccer. I️t has become a big part of my life that I am grateful I took part in.
SUSA helped me with the college process through my trainer and mentors. The coaches that I have had these past years have pushed me to always be better, do better, and strive for something great. SUSA had always sent emails and provided lectures about the college process and had always managed to settle the anxiety and pressure that I️ had been feeling at the time. The college presentations also assured me that I️t was normal to feel the way I had been feeling and were very informative and relieving.
The thing I am looking forward most about my college experience is a new environment to play soccer and have new experiences both on and off the field. I am very excited to be able to say that i am able to continue my soccer career at a Division 1 level at Fairfield University and I am excited to see what the future holds there.
